How the Sky Shard Tracker works

The tracker runs the community shard prediction algorithm locally in your browser. It calculates whether today has an active eruption, whether the shard is red or black, which realm and area it lands in, and the exact times the three eruption windows open and close in your timezone.

Red Shards vs Black Shards

Red Shards: Fall in memory-enabled areas on odd calendar days. Clearing the darkness and completing the memory activity awards Ascended Candles (up to 3.5 per clear). Required for Winged Light in memories.

Black Shards: Fall in standard areas on even calendar days. Clearing the darkness awards regular Candle Wax (equivalent to roughly 4 Candle Cakes).

Frequently Asked Questions

What time is the Sky shard today?

The tracker lists all three predicted eruption windows for the selected date. Times are converted from the game's Pacific schedule into your browser's local timezone.

Where is today's Sky shard?

The status card shows the predicted realm and exact area. Location rotates by date using the current community prediction rules.

Is today's shard red or black?

Red shards occur on odd-numbered dates and black shards on even-numbered dates, subject to each schedule group's no-shard weekdays. The status card calculates the result for you.

What rewards do red shards give?

Red shard rewards range from 2 to 3.5 Ascended Candles depending on the predicted location.

What rewards do black shards give?

Black shards provide wax equal to four Candle Cakes under the current prediction data.

How often do shard eruptions happen?

A shard day has three predicted occurrences. Red occurrences begin six hours apart, while black occurrences begin eight hours apart. Each window lasts four hours.

Why is there no shard today?

Each of the five repeating schedule groups skips two weekdays. When the selected date matches one of those skipped days, the tracker shows No Shard Today instead of displaying a false location or reward.

Are shard times shown in my timezone?

Yes. The schedule is calculated from America/Los_Angeles time and displayed using the timezone reported by your browser.
